Job summary

Elastic, the Search AI Company, seeks a Senior Software Engineer to join the Elasticsearch Security team. In this role, you will contribute to the architecture and design of Elasticsearch's core features, including authentication, authorization, and tenant isolation.

You will collaborate with engineering and product leaders to deliver high-performance security at scale, work on distributed systems security, and apply cryptographic solutions to real customer use cases.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of Java internals and JVM memory management.
• Experience building scalable authorization systems across distributed services.
• Solid understanding of distributed systems security and zero-trust concepts.
• Strong knowledge of OAuth 2.0 and SAML edge identity protocols.
• Proven ability to apply AI to accelerate development and debugging.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to core security initiatives from architecture to production, focusing on delivery of new features.
• Develop foundational security models for features and ensure high concurrency performance.
• Optimize security performance in distributed systems and apply cryptographic solutions.
• Ensure robust data isolation within shared infrastructure for multiple customers.
• Collaborate across teams to embed security in new customer features from the outset.
• Drive vulnerability management with InfoSec and automate triage with AI tools.
