Job summary

Akamai Technologies is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join the Information Security Team in Dover, Delaware. You will work with industry-leading security experts to design, assess, and implement security controls for Akamai's global platform.

You will research adversarial techniques, conduct security assessments, and guide IaC deployments while aligning with NIST 800-53/800-171. This role offers hands-on security engineering responsibilities across networks, apps, and systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant security experience and a Bachelor's degree.
• Proven experience with network security analysis or intrusion management.
• Experience identifying malware and vulnerabilities and mitigating them.
• Experience with secure deployment of infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS).

Responsibilities

• Research adversarial techniques and detection/response strategies.
• Conduct security assessments of networks, applications, and systems to identify risks and mitigations.
• Assist design and deployment of risk-mitigating controls.
• Perform compliance investigations of internal systems (NIST 800-53 / 800-171).
• Document security guidelines, procedures, and policies.
• Provide security guidance to Akamai business units.
• Develop scripts/tools to support security functions.
