Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to assess and mitigate risk across the organization and its customers. You will work with IT and engineering teams, providing security design guidance for applications, systems, and platforms.

You will research adversarial techniques, perform security assessments, and help deploy risk-mitigating controls while aligning with NIST and FedRAMP/CMMC requirements. Join a team safeguarding the internet.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree.
• Proven experience with network security analysis or intrusion management.
• Experience identifying malware and vulnerabilities and mitigating them.
• Experience identifying software and application compromises and vulnerabilities.
• Experience with secure deployment and usage of infrastructure-as-a-service.
• Experience in a FedRAMP and/or CMMC certified environment.

Responsibilities

• Research adversarial techniques, emerging vulnerabilities, and detection/response strategies.
• Conduct security assessments of networks, applications, and systems to identify risks and mitigation.
• Assist with design and deployment of security controls.
• Perform compliance and policy investigations of internal systems.
• Document security guidelines, procedures, and policies with emphasis on NIST 800-53/800-171.
• Provide security guidance and consultation to business units.
• Leverage AI capabilities to enhance processes and automation.
• Develop scripts and tools to support above functions.
