Job summary

Join Akamai's Information Security Team as a Senior Security Engineer, shaping security across Akamai's global platform and services. You will assess risks, guide security design for applications, systems, and platforms, and collaborate with IT and engineering teams.

You will research adversarial techniques, perform security assessments, deploy mitigations, and document guidelines aligned with NIST standards, while enabling AI-driven automation and secure cloud deployments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree.
• Proven experience with network security analysis or intrusion management.
• Experience identifying malware and vulnerabilities and mitigating them.
• Experience identifying software and application compromises and vulnerabilities.
• Experience with secure deployment and usage of infrastructure-as-a-service.
• Experience in a FedRAMP and/or CMMC certified environment.

Responsibilities

• Research adversarial techniques, emerging vulnerabilities, and related detection and response strategies.
• Conduct network, application and system security assessments to identify risks and provide mitigation strategies.
• Assist with design and deployment of security risk mitigating controls.
• Perform compliance and policy-based investigations of internal systems.
• Document security guidelines, procedures, and policies with emphasis on NIST 800-53 and NIST 800-171.
• Provide security guidance and consultation to Akamai business units.
• Leverage emerging AI capabilities to enhance processes and automation.
• Develop scripts and tools to support the above functions.
