Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Security Assurance Services invites an experienced Senior Security & Compliance Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers across locations. You will own the team roadmap, hire and develop talent, and drive strategy for security and automation supporting regulated customers.

The role focuses on delivering scalable security solutions, proofs of concept, and products at AWS scale, with collaboration across teams and executive stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of managing and developing security teams.
• 5+ years of experience in software security or related environment.
• Experience in threat modeling or risk identification techniques.
• Knowledge of security for web services, cryptography, network security, and OS security.
• Experience communicating with C-level executives and cross-functional teams.
• Proven ability to lead a team where strategy is not fully defined and drive 1–3 year initiatives.
• Track record of delivering end-to-end security solutions across multiple teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage a team of security and compliance engineers in multiple locations and one or two managers under you.
• Hire and develop bar-raising talent, onboarding, and growth through delegation and coaching.
• Provide both tactical and strategic management when problems are not fully defined.
• Establish team structure, KPIs and SLAs for delivering complex problems independently.
• Define team and cross-team goals and contribute to strategic planning and execution.
• Own regular reports and write narratives for senior leadership up to three levels above.
• Negotiate priorities across teams and influence roadmaps and resource allocation.
• Set the technical direction for emerging-tech proofs of concept and solutions.
• Identify and shape opportunities; provide input to service-team roadmaps and SAS strategy.
