Job summary
Fortra is seeking an Automation Engineer on the OI team to analyze security operations processes and automate workflows using Python. You will develop scripts, review data, and meet with stakeholders to define requirements and time estimates.
You will create quick proof-of-concepts to validate ideas and deliver metrics showing the impact of automation. This full-time role requires 4–5 years of data analysis with SQL, strong Python scripting, and cybersecurity domain knowledge.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or 2-3 years of software development experience.
- 4-5 years of data analysis experience leveraging SQL
- Understanding of joins, indexes, query optimization and relational table design
- 4-5 years of scripting experience in Python
- Experience with Flask, creating libraries, Python packaging and CICD
- 3-4 years of experience in the Cybersecurity industry
- Understanding of DNS, Proxies, Whois, SSL
Responsibilities
- Develop scripts and applications in Python
- Analyze data and processes to identify automation opportunities
- Meet with stakeholders to define requirements and provide time estimates
- Develop quick proof of concepts to vet ideas
- Produce metrics showing automation impact
- Monitor applications and troubleshoot errors
- On-call support as needed for applications
