Job summary

Meta's Cross-Meta Security organization seeks a distinguished Security Engineer to lead strategic security initiatives across pillars. You will define security strategy, drive engineering excellence at scale, and shape how Meta mitigates systemic risk across infrastructure, products, and platforms.

You will partner with senior leadership to set direction, influence the security community, and deliver solutions protecting billions of people and their data.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of security risk management experience in large organizations.
• Experience driving cross-company security engineering initiatives.
• Experience with system design, threat modeling, and risk assessment.
• Experience building engineered security controls and guardrails (least privilege, defense in depth).
• Ability to communicate complex security risk to executives and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive security strategy and engineering standards across multiple sub-pillars at scale.
• Identify and solve high-impact security problems across distributed systems, access control, encryption, and intrusion detection.
• Lead threat modeling and risk assessment for Meta's complex systems, addressing systemic vulnerabilities.
• Architect and implement security controls, guardrails, and defense-in-depth mechanisms enabling product teams to move fast safely.
• Partner with senior leadership to define pillar security goals, roadmaps, and drive accountability across teams.
• Mentor engineers and leaders, contributing to leadership hiring and security culture.
• Represent Meta's security posture internally and externally and publish insights to influence the security community.
• Leverage AI-integrated workflows to improve threat detection and security analysis.
