Job summary

Meta is seeking an experienced Security Engineer to join the Infrastructure Data Center (IDC) Security & Compliance team. You will be an individual contributor shaping security across global data centers, edge, backbone, subsea, and supply chain operations.

You will own security programs, assess risks, and engineer controls for large-scale infrastructure and operations, including AI tool integration and incident management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of experience in network security, infrastructure security, or telecommunications security with ownership of security programs.
• Technical experience across security domains.
• Experience establishing, scaling, and maturing security projects and programs.
• Experience supporting security for large-scale and/or mission-critical infrastructure and operations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a comprehensive security expert accountable for security risk management across logical and physical security domains.
• Assess security risk and communicate information about security threats and vulnerabilities to inform business decisions and drive strategy.
• Assess and report on effectiveness of security controls to inform security strategy, manage security risk, and enable business operations.
• Engineer security solutions across the network, physical, and cyber/logical domains that efficiently protect Meta infrastructure from security threats at scale.
• Develop and operationalize security guidance to align corporate policy, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements into a unified strategy.
• Integrate security solutions throughout the data center lifecycle including planning, design, construction, operations, refresh, and decommissioning.
• Develop and implement custom detection rules tailored to mechanical cooling and electrical systems supporting facility operations.
• Support security incident management across all domains, and maintaining and troubleshooting infrastructure that supports network security tools.
