Job summary

Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a senior software engineering leader to architect and deliver cryptographic infrastructure critical to regulatory compliance and security. You will define multi-quarter strategies and drive high-stakes initiatives with a team of senior engineers.

You will mentor engineers, elevate engineering quality, and collaborate with Security, Product, and Policy to execute complex projects with resilience and low latency at scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience building highly available, distributed systems.
• Expertise in applied cryptography, KMS, or HSMs with proven safe protocol implementation.
• Experience with cryptographic protocols; Multi-Party Computation experience preferred.
• Proven track record leading technical strategy, architecture, and deliverables for large-scale projects.
• Experience ensuring security, low latency, and resilience in critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture and execution of cryptographic infrastructure for global regulatory compliance.
• Define technical strategies with a multi-quarter horizon for novel cryptographic solutions.
• Own risky initiatives, implementing secure and resilient cryptographic protocols in a high-stakes, zero-trust environment.
• Shape engineering quality practices as a technical anchor and mentor within a team of senior engineers.
• Build alignment and secure commitment from cross-functional partners to drive flawless execution.
