Job summary

Cengage Senior Sales Development Representative is a hands-on contributor who builds a qualified sales pipeline through targeted outbound outreach and meaningful sales interactions. You will connect institutional priorities with higher education solutions across MindTap and related platforms.

As a senior individual contributor, you will manage complex accounts, coach colleagues, and collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Revenue Operations to drive pipeline, qualification, and timely handoffs.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of SDR experience; SaaS background desirable.
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding meetings and pipeline goals.
• Advanced consultative discovery and qualification skills.
• Experience prospecting into complex organizations with multiple influencers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; credible with prospects and internal partners.
• Strong proficiency with CRM systems and sales tools (LinkedIn, MS Office).

Responsibilities

• Drive qualified client meetings and sales pipeline via targeted outbound prospecting.
• Strategically invite personas to in-person and virtual Cengage events.
• Build and complete personalized multi-channel outreach across phone, email, LinkedIn, and other channels.
• Research institutions and accounts to identify goals, influencers, decision-makers, and buying groups.
• Navigate complex accounts and coordinate with multiple stakeholders to generate momentum.
• Nurture and manage leads until sales-ready with clear next steps and handoff.
• Partner with Sales to prioritize accounts and align outreach strategy.
• Ensure accurate CRM documentation and use performance data to set priorities.
• Mentor teammates and contribute to pilots or process improvements.
