Job summary

Zip is seeking an experienced quality engineer to own verification and validation for complex systems, from design through production, in a remote-first US-based role with the option to work from our Manhattan office. You will design test strategies, build scalable automation across API, backend, and UI, and drive root-cause analysis while applying AI-assisted tools to speed up problem-solving.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in quality engineering, QA automation, or SDET roles.
• Ability to identify edge cases, failure scenarios, and subtle bugs.
• Deep understanding of testing strategies (unit, integration, E2E, contract, regression).
• Strong programming skills in TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Experience building automation frameworks for backend/API and frontend/UI testing.
• Experience with CI/CD integration and test pipelines.
• Familiarity with mocking, stubbing, and test data management.
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools.
