Job summary

The Senior Software Engineer role at Cyclops focuses on Technical Leadership and Platform architecture. You will design and evolve core backend services with a strong emphasis on reliability, scalability, and data integrity, while hands-on delivering high-risk components in TypeScript/Node.js.

You’ll own API integrations with partners, drive observability, and mentor engineers across timezones in a fast-paced, AI-forward environment.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of backend experience with hands-on production systems
• Deep crypto infrastructure experience: custody, wallets, or settlement systems
• Strong TypeScript and Node.js backend expertise
• Distributed systems design: microservices, REST APIs, queues
• Experience incident response, debugging outages, and data issues
• Ability to mentor engineers and influence architectural decisions
• Excellent written and spoken English communication

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve core platform services with reliability and data integrity in mind
• Identify architectural risks and provide pragmatic upgrade paths
• Own technical relationships with partners; lead solution reviews and document decisions
• Improve reliability: timeouts, retries, idempotency, and degraded modes
• Drive observability: metrics, logs, tracing, and incident analysis
• Contribute to discovery: build PoCs and analyze third-party APIs
• Implement complex backend components in TypeScript/Node.js
• Elevate team maturity through reviews, decomposition, and knowledge sharing
