Job summary

Amazon EC2 Spot is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to lead design and delivery of scalable, highly available systems. You will own your team’s architecture, drive multi‑engineer projects from problem to production, and ensure code quality, reliability, and security.

Qualifications

5+ years of non‑internship professional software development experience.
5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scalability) of new and existing systems experience.
Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

Lead multi-engineer projects end-to-end—driving design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational readiness for complex systems spanning multiple features and services.
Own your team’s architecture, providing system‑wide design guidance and ensuring solutions are simple, extensible, and built for scale.
Mentor engineers and actively contribute to engineering best practices.
Partner closely with economists, product managers, and adjacent engineering teams to shape capacity allocation, pricing, and demand‑shaping systems.
Balance speed of delivery with architectural durability and drive long‑term solutions.
