Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Seattle is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to own complex, ambiguous problems end-to-end—from architecture and design through implementation, deployment, and operational excellence.

You will mentor engineers, influence technical direction across teams, and build scalable, highly available systems that secure AWS Salesforce deployments and enable innovative, customer-focused solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming experience in at least one language.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end design, development, test, implementation of complex problems including planning, risk, trade-offs.
• Work with engineers, service and security teams to define and deliver complex features.
• Guide and ensure quality of architectural decisions across products and teams.
• Help establish the long-term success strategy for team-owned systems, development best practices, and operational excellence processes.
• Ensure existing platforms and services remain fully supported while contributing to the creation of next generation solutions.
• Provide technical direction and mentor junior team members.
