Job summary

Amazon Web Services, Inc. in Dallas seeks a Senior Software Development Engineer to own end-to-end design, development, testing, and deployment of scalable systems. You will mentor engineers, influence architecture, and partner with security and service teams to deliver high-availability solutions.

You will lead architectural decisions, drive development best practices, and ensure operational excellence while delivering features for AWS customers at scale.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end design, development, test, and implementation of complex problems with planning and risk awareness.
• Collaborate with engineers, service and security teams to deliver complex features.
• Guide and ensure quality of architectural decisions across products and teams.
• Define long-term success strategy for team-owned systems, development best practices, and operational excellence.
• Maintain support for existing platforms while contributing to next-generation solutions.
• Provide technical direction and mentor junior team members.
