Job summary
Amazon Development Center U.S., Inc. is seeking a Software Development Engineer III to lead architecture and technical direction for EC2 control-plane services in air-gapped regions.
You will define deployment pipelines, drive cross-team alignment, and mentor engineers as a technical leader responsible for scalable, secure cloud infrastructure. The role requires guiding design choices, shaping tooling strategy, and evaluating AI-enabled automation across the team.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- Experience leading design or architectural efforts for large systems
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent; CSSLP is a plus
Responsibilities
- Architect and define the technical direction for EC2 control-plane services, fleet health automation, and capacity tooling across air-gapped environments
- Own end-to-end design of deployment pipelines and orchestration for disconnected regions
- Influence cross-team roadmaps and align multiple teams on infrastructure goals and data quality
- Mentor engineers, conduct design/code reviews, and raise the technical bar
- Evaluate opportunities to apply AI tooling to improve automation and code quality
