Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Software Development Engineer II to design, build, and operate EC2 control-plane services in air-gapped regions. You will own features end to end, from design through production, and ensure reliability in isolated environments.

The role requires obtaining and maintaining a TS/SCI with polygraph clearance. You will work with partner teams, improve monitoring and deployment safety, and use AI to enhance automation and code quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional).
• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling).
• Experience programming with at least one software language.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate EC2 control-plane services, fleet health automation, and capacity tooling across air-gapped cloud environments.
• Own features end to end: design, implement, test, deploy through pipelines, and operate in production, including on-call.
• Improve monitoring, alarming, and deployment safety for your services and drive fixes for operational gaps.
• Collaborate with partner teams across air-gapped partitions to deliver shared infrastructure.
• Participate in design and code reviews and help new engineers ramp up.
• Leverage generative AI tools to improve automation, code quality, and team productivity.
