Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to support the DoS Diplomatic Technology Network Operations. The role focuses on operations and maintenance of foreign post network integrations with the DoS Core and related cloud environments.

The position offers a hybrid schedule (~3 days onsite) and may be located in Beltsville, MD or Springfield, VA, with responsibilities spanning on‑prem and cloud networks, security, and PKI/identity services.

Responsibilities

• Performs day-to-day operations and maintenance of network, cloud infrastructure, and voice components across the enterprise.
• Monitors, tunes, and maintains network and cloud infrastructure for performance and availability.
• Troubleshoots using monitoring tools to isolate problems across on‑prem and cloud environments.
• Performs problem isolation and resolution for network incidents and service requests in global operations.
• Evaluates, designs, and documents network solutions to meet operational requirements and customer needs.
• Collaborates with Architects and engineering teams to implement solutions within equipment and cloud limits.
• Develops contingency plans for network hardware failures including outages and cloud service disruptions.
• Provides technical guidance and support to developers, operations, and management.
• Offers client consulting and training on network systems and cloud architectures.
• Plans and evaluates new network equipment and cloud services – hardware and software.
• Designs and implements hybrid cloud architectures integrating on‑prem and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Configures and manages cloud networking components.
