Job summary

Serif Biomedicines, Inc. seeks a Senior Scientist II with deep lipid chemistry expertise to design ionizable lipids and advance LNP formulations for nucleic acid delivery.

You will drive design, synthesis, and screening of lipid libraries, and work at the interface of medicinal chemistry, formulation science, and delivery biology. You will lead medium- to high-throughput screening efforts, mentor junior scientists, and contribute to the scientific strategy and external engagements while staying

Qualifications

• PhD with 5+ years in industry and a strong background in multi-step organic synthesis.
• Hands-on experience with LNP formulation and nanoparticle characterization.
• Experience designing and running formulation screens and evaluating nucleic acid delivery.
• Familiarity with lipid analytics and computational approaches to lipid design is a plus.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and synthesize novel ionizable lipids and optimize LNP formulations.
• Plan and conduct formulation screening and build structure–property relationships.
• Prepare LNP formulations for high-throughput screening.
• Collaborate across biology, analytics, and process development to assess lead formulations.
• Mentor junior scientists and contribute to IP and strategy.
• Stay current with advances in ionizable lipids and LNP technologies.
