Job summary

Genentech in San Diego, CA seeks a Scientist 3 to independently execute and optimize synthesis of lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) encapsulating nucleic acids for in vitro and in vivo studies. You will lead DoE-based screening campaigns and collaborate with biology, analytics, chemistry, and project management teams.

You will support early-stage formulation development, downstream processing, including cryoprotection, scale-up, stability studies, and data interpretation.

Qualifications

• PhD with relevant experience or Master’s with 3+ years in biopharma.
• 2+ years hands-on LNP formulation and encapsulation work.
• Proficient with LNP characterization methods (DLS, Zeta, Ribogreen).

Responsibilities

• Execute and optimize synthesis of LNPs for nucleic acid delivery.
• Lead DoE-based screening campaigns to define LNP composition.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to advance formulation programs and support scale-up.
