Job summary

Marengo Therapeutics is seeking a Senior Scientist to advance our TriSTAR T cell engagers and immune-modulating biologics. You will design and lead in vitro assays using human, rodent, and NHP immune cells to generate mechanistic data that guide program strategy.

You will mentor junior scientists, work with cross-functional teams, and help translate molecular design into actionable pharmacology as we push candidates toward clinical development.

Qualifications

• PhD in Immunology, Cell Biology, or related field with 4+ years of experience.
• Experience executing immunological assays with primary immune cells.
• Hands-on experience with T cell functional assays, including activation, proliferation, cytokine production, and cytotoxicity readouts.
• Strong data analysis and interpretation skills, with the ability to translate complex datasets into clear conclusions.
• Expertise with multi-parameter flow cytometry.

Responsibilities

• Design and lead in vitro and ex vivo cellular assays using primary human, murine, and NHP immune cells to evaluate target engagement, immune activation, cytotoxicity, and mechanism of action.
• Build TDCC and tumor co-culture assays to define potency and therapeutic index for TriSTAR and related molecules.
• Characterize Vß-selective T cell activation, expansion, and memory/exhaustion phenotypes.
• Apply advanced flow cytometry and immunoassay platforms to characterize immune cell function.
• Communicate findings through technical reports and presentations to cross-functional stakeholders.
• Mentor junior scientists on assay execution, data interpretation, and lab practices.
