Job summary

Zealand Pharma in Cambridge, MA is seeking a Sr. Scientist I in Histology & Imaging to run tissue prep, staining, and imaging workflows end-to-end—from brain processing and IF/IHC staining to confocal imaging, data analysis, and quantification.

You will work hands-on and collaborate with in vivo Pharmacology and Biology to generate high-quality histological data for our metabolic disease program. You will help build automation-enabled staining and slide-scanning capabilities, perform rodent

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Physiology, Biology, or related field with 0–3 years of industry or postdoc experience.
• M.S. in a related life sciences field with ~3–6 years industry experience.
• B.S./B.A. in a related life sciences field with ~5–8+ years industry experience.
• Solid understanding of brain anatomy and metabolic regulation.
• Hands-on tissue preservation, cryosectioning, and IF/IHC staining.
• Experience with confocal microscopy, image quantification, and automated staining/slide-scanning platforms.

Responsibilities

• Run tissue preparation, staining, and imaging workflows end-to-end.
• Collaborate with in vivo Pharmacology and Biology teams to generate high-quality histological data.
• Help build automation-enabled staining and slide-scanning capabilities.
• Acquire and analyze images and perform quantitative image analysis.
• Support in vivo experiments as needed and maintain rigorous documentation.
