Job summary

Amgen in the United States seeks a Senior Scientist - PKDM-BA to design and execute biological and biophysical experiments to understand ADME properties of large molecule therapeutics, supporting drug discovery and early development programs.

The role is lab-based with emphasis on assay/technology development, data interpretation, and communicating results to project teams; candidate may help shape department strategy for PKDM projects in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Doctorate degree PhD, PharmD or MD, or Master’s with 3 years of related experience, or Bachelor’s with 5 years of related experience.
• PhD or MS in immunology, cell biology, biochemistry, biophysics, or equivalent.
• 2+ years of protein therapeutics drug discovery and development experience with PK/PD understanding.
• Expertise in protein biochemistry and/or cell biology techniques, including reagent preparation, assay development, optimization and troubleshooting.
• Experience translating biochemical/biophysical observations into cellular/animal models with mechanistic insights.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute biological and/or biophysical experiments to understand ADME properties of large molecule therapeutics for drug discovery and early development.
• Lab-based role emphasizing assay/technology development for defining in vivo clearance and biodistribution mechanisms.
• Interpret data and communicate results to project team representatives; maintain electronic lab notebook.
• May develop and execute department strategy for PKDM project teams as a PKDM representative.
