Job summary

Amgen is seeking a Senior Scientist, Automation and HTS Target Discovery & Biology, based in Thousand Oaks. You will lead automation efforts to advance functional genomics and multi-omics discovery, collaborating across therapeutic areas to translate data into target discovery.

You will guide automation strategy, implement complex in vitro models, and drive cross-functional progress across the Amgen pipeline, enabling accelerated target identification.

Qualifications

• Doctorate or equivalent advanced degree in a life sciences field.
• Mid-career candidates with MS and 3+ years of functional genomic screening experience.
• Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of screening experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop automation pipelines for functional genomic screens in HTS models.
• Transfer manual protocols to automation platforms (96/384-well).
• Adapt iPSC differentiation to automated instruments for screen-ready cells.
• Optimize imaging assays and analysis for high-content screens.
• Identify new automation tech to improve discovery throughput.
