Job summary

Molecular Devices, a Danaher operating company, is seeking a Senior Scientist - Applications to provide scientific leadership for our plate reader portfolio and support across the product lines. This on-site role in San Jose reports to the Director of Scientific Applications and anchors collaboration between Sales, Field Applications, Marketing, and Product Management.

Ideal candidates have a biology-focused background, multiple years in customer-facing roles, and a track record of validation

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, or related life science discipline, with multiple years of experience in a customer-focused role within life science tools/biotech/diagnostics.
• Demonstrated expertise in microplate reader technologies and associated applications, with the ability to apply scientific knowledge to solve customer challenges.
• Proven ability to engage, influence, and build relationships with external customers and internal stakeholders across Sales, Field Applications, Marketing, Product Management, and Service.
• Commercially minded with strong understanding of customer needs, market opportunities, translating scientific requirements into solutions.
• Experience designing and executing validation studies and developing application-focused content that supports product positioning and campaigns.

Responsibilities

• Develop deep understanding of customer workflows across research and regulated labs to identify growth opportunities.
• Translate challenges into scientifically relevant application workflows and validation studies.
• Generate high-quality validation data and application evidence to support marketing and communications.
• Act as a strategic link between customers, Sales, Field Applications, Marketing, and Product Management.
• Drive adoption of technologies by creating customer-centric technical content and best practices.
