Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with substantial institutional food service experience, incl. managerial duties.
• Must possess Arlington County Food Service Manager Certification.
• Knowledge of institutional food prep procedures and safe operation of equipment.

Responsibilities

• Plan receipt, storage, warming and serving of daily meals.
• Coordinate with central kitchen for deliveries and emergency supplies.
• Plan cost-effective food service program including ordering and inventory management.
• Order supplies from vendors or central kitchen for direct-delivery items.
• Supervise food service, storage and cashiering operations.
• Participate in internal and State Department of Health sanitation inspection.
• Train staff, assign work, conduct performance evaluations, and maintain records.
• Work with schools and community groups for events and outreach.
• Represent the school in community and parent interactions.
• Move and lift up to 35 pounds; work on wet/slippery floors; endure hot areas and temp extremes.
