Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator Lead to expertly manage physician appointment scheduling, OR/admission, pre-registration and registration processes. You will support clinicians and patients by ensuring accurate appointment and insurance data and coordinating requests in a single transaction.

Responsibilities include patient data accuracy, communication with staff across service lines, and providing orientation for new staff and interns.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in relevant field may be preferred.
• Certification or vocational training may be required.
• 4 years of relevant experience required.
• 6+ years of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule return appointments and/or other appointments as assigned.
• Gather accurate demographic and insurance information to support clinical and financial needs.
• Coordinate patient and physician requests in one transaction.
• Resolve routine and complex customer problems and direct inquiries appropriately.
• Communicate with clinical staff and department personnel to meet patient and staff needs.
• Create a positive first impression.
• Operate EMR, scheduling/registration systems, ABN, eligibility and document management software.
• Provide orientation for new staff and student interns.
• Educate department standards, policies and procedures and provide feedback.
