Job summary

WSP is seeking a SCADA Engineer – Technical Director for our Boise, ID office with consideration for Clarkston, WA; Portland, OR; San Diego, CA; Denver, CO; Salt Lake City, UT; and Ft Lauderdale, FL. The role leads projects in ESSP, SCADA, and protection for utilities, providing technical leadership, design, and commissioning expertise.

You will mentor staff, manage client relationships, contribute to proposals, and ensure regulatory compliance while delivering high-quality, safe, and reliable

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of post-education experience as an electrical engineer providing design deliverables for SCADA projects in power generation, transmission, and distribution.
• Strong knowledge of QA/QC and design standards; ability to lead and mentor staff.
• Willingness to travel occasionally and liaison with clients.
• Proven track record of safety compliance and professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects and strengthen client relationships on SCADA design and commissioning for utility-scale systems.
• Provide technical leadership in design, engineering, and commissioning and mentor team members.
• Support proposals, build client relationships, and identify new business opportunities.
• Ensure adherence to codes, standards, and QA/QC throughout project delivery.
• Communicate complex technical issues to diverse audiences and manage project priorities.
