Job summary

WSP is seeking a SCADA Engineer – Technical Director for our Boise, ID office, with consideration for Clarkston, WA; Portland, OR; San Diego, CA; Denver, CO; Salt Lake City, UT; and Ft Lauderdale, FL. You will lead projects in ESSP, focusing on utility SCADA, control systems, and renewable energy integration, while strengthening client relationships and mentoring team members.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
12+ years of post-education experience delivering SCADA design for power generation, transmission, and distribution.
Advanced proficiency with electrical engineering principles and QA/QC.
Works independently and provides leadership to mid-level to senior staff.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Lead design, engineering, and commissioning of utility, industrial, and commercial SCADA projects.
Coordinate, review and approve electrical infrastructure design plans for mid-level and complex projects.
Prepare data transfer points, program data addressing, and test data routing between control centers.
Design and configure network paths for RTUs, IEDs, HMIs, and SCADA equipment.
Specify and design communications networks with focus on security and reliability, and travel to project sites as needed.
Develop, document, and implement logic and control schemes for power system equipment and microgrids.
Travel to project sites to test and commission control strategies and ensure safety.
