Job summary

Ember Grey in North Carolina is seeking an experienced Senior SCADA Engineer to lead the design, development, and deployment of SCADA solutions across manufacturing sites. The role connects automated equipment with MES platforms, data historians, and plant information systems to improve reliability, data integrity, and cybersecurity.

You will collaborate with Operations, Manufacturing, IT, and vendors, own projects end-to-end, and travel up to 50%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field is required.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in SCADA/industrial automation.
• Experience with MES, plant information systems, or enterprise data platforms is essential.
• Hands-on skills with Ignition, iFIX, or similar SCADA platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and maintain SCADA applications across manufacturing operations.
• Integrate equipment with MES, plant information systems, and data historians.
• Configure and troubleshoot industrial protocols (OPC UA, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, MQTT).
• Support PLC and automation system integration across Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Omron.
• Develop HMI, scripting, and data visualization within SCADA.
• Lead cross-functional teams and manage projects, potentially travel up to 50%.
