Job summary

Vulcan Elements in Durham, NC, soon Benson, NC, seeks a senior SCADA/HMI Platform Engineer to lead platform selection and end-to-end ownership for a 1 million square foot manufacturing expansion.

You will author platform-neutral standards, design the supervisory architecture, and establish acceptance criteria for OEM/integrator deliverables, driving alarm management and data acquisition across MES/SCADA systems.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of direct industrial automation and SCADA/HMI engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience programming and commissioning major platforms (Siemens, Rockwell, Ignition).
• Platform ownership including licensing, redundancy, and data access considerations.

Responsibilities

• Configure and maintain PLC/HMI communications with MES/SCADA, establish tag/UDT standards, alarm philosophy, and historian data acquisition.
