Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an Automation Engineer for its Electric Grid Infrastructure Services. You will design SCADA and communications solutions for substations, batteries, and microgrids, coordinating with relay engineers and IED specialists.

The role emphasizes hands-on configuration of RTUs, PACs, and HMIs, plus field troubleshooting and documentation. A strong engineering background and travel readiness are required.

Qualifications

• Essential degree in electrical/computer engineering and 8 years in SCADA design.
• Proficiency with GE, SEL, Novatech RTUs and related software.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan, engineer and design SCADA and communications systems for client projects.
• Develop block diagrams, panel layouts, SCADA schematics and network drawings.
• Configure RTUs and PACs; develop HMI applications.
• Coordinate relay settings, port configurations and protection schemes.
• Configure network devices and perform remote/on-site troubleshooting.
• Produce SCADA and network documentation; support CIP compliance.
