Job summary

SiriusXM in Washington, DC seeks a Senior SBC Engineer to ensure the stability, security, and high availability of voice infrastructure within a mission-critical call center environment supporting emergency calls. This role provides technical leadership for the design, configuration, and operation of Oracle Acme Packet SBCs and OCCAS.

The Senior SBC Engineer will oversee incident and project tickets and drive solutions that ensure reliable SIP-based voice services essential to public safety

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in VoIP/SIP network engineering.
• 5+ years of hands-on Oracle SBC experience.
• 2+ years of direct experience with OCCAS.
• Expert-level SIP, SDP, RTP, and header manipulation knowledge.
• Experience with emergency services environments (911/PSAP).
• Proficient with DNS, TCP/IP, TLS, SRTP, and traversal for SIP.
• Strong troubleshooting using Wireshark and sngrep.
• Experience with redundant SBC clusters, HA, and geo-redundant designs.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.
• Experience with cloud contact centers (preferred).
• Oracle certifications (OCSBC, OCCAS) desirable.
• STIR/SHAKEN, SIPREC, OCSM, or Policy DRA familiarity.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow/JIRA.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to engineers supporting emergency call center voice infrastructure.
• Administer and maintain Oracle SBCs and OCCAS.
• Design and optimize SIP routing, header manipulation, and normalization for multi-carrier interoperability.
• Develop and troubleshoot OCCAS SIP servlets and call control logic for emergency calls.
• Manage daily tickets and ensure SLA compliance and documentation updates.
• Perform SIP signaling and media troubleshooting with Wireshark and diagnostic tools.
• Manage SBC clusters, firmware upgrades, capacity planning, and redundancy.
