Job summary

SiriusXM Connect seeks a Senior SBC Engineer to ensure the stability, security, and high availability of voice infrastructure in a mission-critical call center environment supporting emergency calls. You will lead the design, configuration, and operation of Oracle SBCs and OCCAS, oversee incident tickets, and drive solutions for reliable SIP-based voice services used in public safety communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in CS/telecom.
• 7+ years in VoIP/SIP network engineering with 5+ years Oracle SBC experience.
• 2+ years with OCCAS.
• Expert SIP/SDP/RTP and SIP header manipulation knowledge.
• Experience with emergency services environments (911/PSAP).
• DNS/TCP/IP/TLS/SRTP and NAT traversal proficiency.
• Strong troubleshooting using Wireshark, sngrep, Oracle tools.
• Experience with redundant SBCs, HA, geo-redundancy.
• Excellent documentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to engineers supporting emergency call center voice infrastructure.
• Administer, configure, and maintain Oracle SBCs and OCCAS.
• Design and optimize SIP routing, header manipulation, and normalization for multi-carrier interoperability.
• Develop and troubleshoot OCCAS SIP servlets and custom call control for emergency handling.
• Manage daily tickets and ensure SLA compliance and proper documentation.
• Troubleshoot SIP signaling and media with Wireshark, sngrep, and Oracle tools.
• Manage SBC clusters, firmware upgrades, capacity planning, and redundancy for high availability.
• Oversee TLS/SRTP, certificates, and SBC security configurations.
• Collaborate with Network Operations, Security, Development, and Contact Center Operations.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation and lead incident root-cause analysis.
