Job summary

SiriusXM Radio, Inc. is seeking a Senior SBC Engineer to ensure the stability and security of voice infrastructure supporting emergency calls. You will lead the design, configuration, and operation of Oracle SBCs and OCCAS, driving reliable SIP-based services for public safety communications.

The role requires 7+ years in VoIP/SIP, hands-on SBC experience, and strong debugging skills using standard network tools. On-call rotation and cross-functional collaboration are core parts of the job.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
7+ years of VoIP/SIP network engineering experience, with 5+ years of hands-on Oracle SBC experience.
2+ years of direct experience with OCCAS.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers supporting emergency call center voice infrastructure.
Configure and maintain Oracle Acme Packet SBCs and OCCAS.
Design, implement, and optimize SIP routing, header manipulation, and normalization for multi-carrier interoperability.
Develop and troubleshoot OCCAS SIP servlets and custom call control logic for emergency call handling.
Manage daily bug, service, and project tickets with SLA adherence and documentation updates.
Perform SIP signaling and media troubleshooting using Wireshark, sngrep, and Oracle diagnostic tools.
Oversee SBC clusters, firmware upgrades, capacity planning, and redundancy for high availability.
