Job summary

SiriusXM Radio, Inc. is seeking a Senior SBC Engineer to ensure stability, security, and high availability of voice infrastructure in a mission-critical call center environment supporting emergency calls.

You will design, configure, and operate Oracle SBCs and OCCAS, lead incident responses, and collaborate across networks, security, and application teams. The role includes 24/7 on-call duties and a path toward advanced Oracle certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Telecom, EE, or equivalent.
• 7+ years in VoIP/SIP network engineering with 5+ years on Oracle SBC.
• 2+ years with OCCAS.
• Expert in SIP, SDP, RTP, and SIP header manipulation.
• Experience with call centers or emergency services (911/PSAP).
• Proficient in DNS, TCP/IP, TLS, SRTP, and NAT traversal for SIP.
• Strong debugging using Wireshark, sngrep, Oracle tools.
• Experience with redundant SBC clusters, HA, geo-redundancy.
• Excellent documentation and communication.
• Experience with STIR/SHAKEN, SIPREC, OCSM, or Policy DRA desirable.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow/JIRA.
• Scripting/automation (Python, Bash, Terraform, REST).
• Automation/AI tools experience (chatGPT, Gemini).
• Must have legal right to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership to engineers supporting emergency call center voice infra.
• Administer, configure, and maintain Oracle SBCs and OCCAS.
• Design and optimize SIP routing, header manipulation, and normalization.
• Develop OCCAS SIP servlets and call control logic for emergency handling.
• Manage daily tickets and maintain SLA and docs.
• Troubleshoot SIP signaling using Wireshark, sngrep, and Oracle tools.
• Manage SBC clusters, firmware upgrades, capacity, redundancy.
• Oversee TLS/SRTP and certificate management for security.
• Collaborate with Network Ops, Security, App Dev, Contact Center.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation and incident root-cause analysis.
