Job summary

Evolve Bank & Trust is seeking an SBA Loan Underwriter to analyze SBA 7(a) and 504 loan submissions through the credit decision process. The role involves evaluating submissions for completeness, analyzing borrower financials, and spreading cash flows to determine cash flow and risk.

Responsibilities include generating narrative credit writeups, coordinating with the BDO/closer, and preparing commitment or declination letters for review and approval authorities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four years underwriting SBA lending or commercial finance experience.
• Bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, or banking with strong accounting/finance background.
• Knowledge of GAAP accounting; tax knowledge is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Review credit packages for completeness and accuracy.
• Collaborate with closing department on changes to approvals and third‑party reports.
• Interact with principals to address questions and concerns during underwriting.
• Prepare narrative credit writeups for approval review and generate commitment or declination letters.
• Present credit requests to EB&T credit committee as needed.
• Complete transaction spreadsheets and financial analyses.
