Job summary

Blue Origin LLC seeks a Reliability Engineer for TeraWave satellite and payload hardware. You will translate mission objectives into reliability requirements, build analyses (FMEAs, fault trees, RBDs), and guide design improvements for robustness across avionics, EPS, propulsion electronics, and GNC, supporting a high-rate constellation.

You will collaborate with system and hardware teams to plan verification, manage risks, and contribute to mission assurance across a growing spaceflight program.

Qualifications

• B.S. in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, systems engineering, reliability engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in reliability, systems, spacecraft, payload, avionics, or mission-assurance engineering.
• Hands-on experience with FMEA/FMECA, fault-tree analysis, reliability block diagrams, critical-item management, or quantitative reliability prediction.
• Working knowledge of spacecraft bus and payload hardware such as avionics, EPS, propulsion electronics, GNC sensors and actuators, thermal-control hardware, structures and mechanisms, RF or optical communications.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and execute the TeraWave hardware reliability approach across satellites and payload hardware.
• Derive and allocate reliability, availability, and mission-life requirements from system objectives.
• Create and maintain reliability analyses (RBDs, FMEAs, fault trees) for nominal, degraded, and safe-mode operations.
• Collaborate with designers to improve robustness through derating, redundancy, isolation, and margins.
• Perform reliability predictions and uncertainty analyses based on component and heritage data.
