Job summary

Blue Origin in Seattle is seeking an experienced Electrical Power Engineer to join the TeraWave team, responsible for architecture, design, analysis and verification of electrical power subsystems for satellite payloads.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver flight-qualified power electronics hardware meeting demanding performance, mass, reliability and environmental requirements for a space-based constellation.

Qualifications

B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field.
10+ years in electrical power electronics design.
Experience designing isolated DC-DC converters at 1 kW/120 VDC or higher.
Experience in satellite/space hardware power electronics.
Proficiency in analyses: WCA, derating, stability, thermal, transient, reliability, DFMEA, DFT, DFM, EMI.

Responsibilities

Lead design, development, and qualification of isolated DC-DC power conversion systems up to 1 kW at 120 VDC.
Design and characterize sub-1 V, high-current POL converters.
Develop power system architectures including filtering, sequencing, fault protection, and distribution for satellite applications.
Perform design verification analyses and document results.
Support PCB layout reviews and cross-disciplinary integration with mechanical, thermal, systems, optics, and RF teams.
Lead design reviews and present analysis results to stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with Blue Origin engineering standards and space industry standards.
