Job summary

Amazon Kuiper Manufacturing Enterprises LLC is seeking a Senior Reliability Engineer to strengthen hardware reliability for satellite systems. You will lead reliability testing, perform failure analyses, and work with design teams to embed reliability practices across the product lifecycle.

You will review designs, conduct FMEA, and manage root-cause investigations of non-conformances and on-orbit data to improve robustness.

Qualifications

• Experience developing functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures.
• Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of hardware reliability engineering, preferably with satellite systems or space applications.
• Significant knowledge of reliability engineering principles, methods, and tools.
• Knowledge with environmental testing.
• Proficiency in failure analysis techniques and materials characterization methods.
• Familiarity with electronics (PCBs, PCBAs, electronic components) and moving mechanical assemblies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement reliability test plans for satellite hardware components.
• Perform stress screening, environmental testing, and drive failure analysis to ensure hardware reliability targets.
• Collaborate with design engineers to implement design-for-reliability practices.
• Review designs for release and participate in FMEA to assess potential reliability issues.
• Investigate manufacturing non-conformances and field failures to determine root cause; travel as needed.
• Develop reliability prediction models and databases to forecast hardware performance.
• Prepare reliability reports, tests plans, and procedures; present findings to teams.
