Job summary

L3Harris Communications Systems seeks a Sr. Specialist Systems Engineer to support the full lifecycle of advanced data link and SATCOM systems. You will contribute to architecture, requirements, and verification, working with cross-functional teams to meet mission requirements and quality standards.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, documentation, and collaboration with customers and stakeholders, with 10–20% travel within CONUS and eligibility for a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related technical field with 6+ years of experience; or a graduate degree with 4+ years; or 10+ years without a degree.
• Experience in systems engineering across full lifecycles of complex communications systems (SATCOM/data link) preferred.
• Strong written, verbal, and visual communication; ability to work with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Execute systems engineering activities across the program lifecycle: requirements, architecture, interfaces, integration, verification, deployment, sustainment.
• Manage customer-derived and allocated requirements with traceability and verification closure.
• Contribute to technical baseline development, trade studies, and design reviews for complex systems.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation including specs, ICDs, architecture artifacts, and test plans.
• Collaborate with engineering disciplines to support design, integration, and test activities.
• Support risk management, root-cause analysis, and corrective action planning across multiple domains.
• Support planning, reviews, proposals, and execution with program leadership and stakeholders.
• Provide guidance to other engineers and promote MBSE and digital engineering practices.
• Travel 10-20% CONUS for meetings, reviews, and verification activities.
