Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a Satellite Communications (SATCOM)/Network Engineer in McLean, VA.

The role designs, evaluates, tests, and plans the customer’s complex internal network and provides high-level technical assistance. You will secure and manage network infrastructures to enhance productivity, mitigate threats, and reduce costs, with hands-on work on LNA/LNB, FDMA/TDMA modems, and satellite systems.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI with Poly clearance required.
• 10+ years of System Engineering experience.
• Expertise with satellite/RF systems analysis including link budgets, noise analysis, modulation/demodulation, and forward error correction coding.
• Ability to provide real-time assistance to operators during spacecraft anomalies; document operational scenarios.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes, designs, models, and simulates communications systems, subsystems, and algorithms for satellite communications networks.
• Evaluate lease costs for space segments, bandwidth requirements, and frequency management; including frequency changes and spectrum management.
• Provide expert operations and maintenance support of antenna controllers, SSPA, LNA/LNB, up/down converters, FDMA/TDMA modems.
