Job summary

General Dynamics IT (GDIT) is seeking a Satellite Communications (SATCOM)/Network Engineer to design, evaluate, test, and plan complex internal networks for national security missions. You will provide expert support on high-level system and networking requests, secure and manage network infrastructures, and help reduce risk and costs.

The role requires an active TS/SCI with Poly clearance and 10+ years of related System Engineering experience. On-site at customer site near Tyson's Corner, VA.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of directly related experience in System Engineering.
• Active TS/SCI with Poly clearance required.
• Experience with satellite/RF systems analysis including link budgets, noise analysis, modulation/demodulation and forward error correction coding.
• Ability to provide real-time assistance and after-action reporting for spacecraft anomalies.
• Experience with LNA/LNB, up and down converters, FDMA/TDMA modems (military and commercial).

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and designs satellite communications networks and related subsystems.
• Evaluate costs for space segments, bandwidth, and frequency management; manage spectrum and link outages.
• Provide operations and maintenance support for antenna controllers and RF subsystems.
• Oversee engineering tasks for integrated SATCOM systems across multiple components.
• Manage SATCOM projects from concept to hardware delivery and field deployment.
• Prepare detailed system specifications and operating procedures.
