Job summary

EY is seeking an SAP IS-U Billing Senior Consultant to design, configure, and implement SAP IS-U Billing and Invoicing solutions for utility clients. You will translate billing requirements into functional designs and work closely with stakeholders to deliver accurate customer bills across the meter-to-cash lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Typically 3–4 years of SAP IS-U or SAP Utilities experience, including 3+ years with SAP IS-U Billing & Invoicing.
• Hands-on experience delivering functional requirements, configuration or solution design, testing, and production support in a utility environment.
• Experience configuring SAP IS-U billing schemas, rates, facts, operands, billing master data, invoicing, and billing-cycle processes.
• Understanding meter-to-cash processes and their dependencies across Billing, Device Management, Energy Data Management, FI-CA, Customer Service, and connected systems.
• Experience executing unit and integration testing and supporting UAT, regression testing, defect resolution, cutover, and production stabilization.
• Strong analytical, communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.
• A willingness to travel 40–60%.

Responsibilities

• Gathers and analyzes billing and invoicing requirements for electric, gas, and water utilities.
• Configures SAP IS-U billing schemas, rates, master data, invoicing, and billing-cycle processes.
• Supports periodic and non-periodic billing, rebilling, reversals, adjustments, and bill simulations.
• Validates invoicing, billing document creation, payment handoffs, and downstream postings with FI-CA.
• Analyzes billing exceptions and root causes across meter reads, rates, and customer data.
• Coordinates end-to-end process impacts across multiple streams and teams.
• Delivers knowledge transfer and functional guidance to client teams and junior staff.
