Job summary

BDO USA, LLP is seeking a Tax Senior, State and Local Tax to advise clients on multistate tax implications and compliance. You will analyze tax issues, prepare and present findings, and support SOX-compliant engagements while managing client relationships across jurisdictions.

Responsibilities include researching tax rules, reviewing returns, and collaborating with state and local tax specialists to optimize client outcomes. A CPA or equivalent is preferred; strong communication is essential.

• Strong analytical and research skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Identifies when research is needed; frames issues to be researched; identifies sources of information and reports analysis
• Applies firm standards for preparation of tax returns
• Develops and maintains relationships with in-state and out-of-state Department of Tax (DOT)/Department of Revenue (DOR) personnel
• Ensures clients comply with authorities while minimizing tax burden
• Reviews tax returns and communicates with clients to gather information
