Job summary

BDO USA, LLP is seeking a Tax Senior, State and Local Tax, to apply industry knowledge in advising clients on tax implications of business objectives and compliance strategies. The role involves presenting to clients, researching tax issues, and supporting multi-state tax planning and controversy work.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree (Masters preferred), 2+ years in state/local tax, CPA or similar certification preferred, and strong skills in Excel, Word, and tax applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Masters preferred.
• Two or more years state and local/multistate experience required.
• CPA certification or equivalent preferred.
• Proficient in Excel and Word; tax research tools experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Research and identify issues, frame issues to be researched, and report analyses.
• Prepare and review tax provisions and returns with attention to accuracy and SOX compliance.
• Provide tax consulting to maximize client benefits and advise on state tax strategies.
• Handle tax controversy work and respond to agency inquiries as needed.
• Utilize tax software (GoSystems and other tools) and train staff on tools.
• Develop and manage client engagements, including planning, budgeting, and billing.
