Job summary

BDO USA, LLP seeks a Tax Senior, State and Local Tax, to apply deep SALT knowledge to client objectives, evaluate tax positions, and advise on compliance strategies. You will lead discussions with clients, present analyses, and coordinate with state and local tax specialists across engagements.

The role emphasizes research, tax compliance accuracy, and consulting with a focus on minimizing taxes while meeting regulatory requirements. Collaboration with assurance teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Two or more years state and local/multistate experience, required.
• CPA certification or other relevant certification, preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Research issues, frame questions, analyze authorities and report conclusions.
• Prepare and review tax returns and computations with accuracy.
• Develop tax consulting plans to maximize client benefits and efficiency.
• Manage client expectations and provide clear engagement communications.
• Utilize tax software and collaborate with specialists on complex issues.
