Job summary

Columbia University Information Technology is seeking a Salesforce Solution Architect to lead end-to-end architecture for Salesforce platforms, aligning with enterprise standards and governance. You will manage administrators and developers, shaping service ownership and platform strategy.

The role emphasizes data governance, HIPAA/FERPA compliance, and secure data handling in a hybrid work setting, with opportunities to influence long-term architecture decisions and DevOps processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required; Advanced degree desirable.
• 7–9 years' related experience including Salesforce experience and solution architecture.
• Proven experience designing scalable, secure enterprise Salesforce solutions.
• Strong knowledge of Salesforce capabilities, limitations, and best practices.
• Hands-on experience with Apex, LWC, and integrations (REST/SOAP).
• Experience in regulated environments (PHI, FERPA, GDPR).
• Experience leading technical teams and working in Agile environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end solution architecture across Salesforce platforms (Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and Advancement Suite).
• Translate business requirements into scalable, secure solutions aligned with enterprise standards.
• Evolve data models, integration patterns, and system interactions across Salesforce and external platforms.
• Evaluate platform capabilities and architectural approaches for long-term scalability and performance.
• Own architectural decisions and establish design and implementation standards.
• Optimize Salesforce as the Advancement platform and oversee service delivery.
