Job summary

Rocket Software Inc. is seeking a Senior Sales Engineer to support Account Executives in new and existing partner relationships and direct business to grow revenue opportunities.

The role requires a strong sales and technical background in Mainframe z/OS and related technologies. The candidate will lead technical sales and collaborate with teams, mentoring peers and managing multiple projects from start to finish in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of sales engineering experience in enterprise software.
• AS/400 / IBM i and z/OS technical experience with storage software.
• GUI design, API and modernization experience.
• REST services and application development skills.
• Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases.
• Strong problem solving and requirements gathering abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Relate to customer challenges and present clear value-based solutions.
• Present solutions to customers and partners with or without sales support.
• Support partners throughout the sales process.
• Convey technical details to non-technical audiences and build credibility with tech teams.
• Qualify business opportunities by understanding user requirements and environment.
• Mentor peers on software components, design techniques and delivery concepts.
• Handle objections professionally and manage multiple projects end-to-end.
