Intramotev, based in St. Louis, MO, seeks a Staff Safety Systems Engineer to build a production-grade system safety program for self-propelled railcars and autonomous concepts. You will own safety analyses, software compliance, and regulatory pathways, reporting to the Chief Engineer.

This in-office role requires extensive collaboration with hardware, software, and controls teams, plus travel for testing and customer engagements as needed.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Science.
• 7+ years of systems or safety engineering in a safety-critical, highly regulated environment.
• Experience performing and owning system-level safety analyses (FMEA, FTA, hazard analysis, reliability predictions).
• Familiarity with safety-critical software architectures and SDLC processes.
• Experience supporting regulatory submissions, certifications, or safety cases in a regulated industry.
• Willingness to expand into new technical areas; ability to develop innovative approaches.
• Open-minded and comfortable working in a teaming environment as an individual contributor.
• Fluent in both written and verbal English.
• U.S. Person; immigration or work visa sponsorship not provided.

Aufgaben

• Establish the Safety Program: define processes, standards, documentation, and review cadences.
• Own Systems Safety: act as senior technical owner for safety across hardware/software teams.
• Safety-Critical Software Compliance: lead safety review and verification per rail standards.
• Safety & Reliability Analysis: drive FMEA/FTA, hazard analyses, and reliability predictions.
• Regulatory Pathway: drive FRA/AAR waiver process and safety case for autonomy.
• Technology Qualification: define tests to qualify new battery-electric/autonomous rail tech.
• Design Influence: translate safety requirements into actionable hardware/software designs.
• Testing & Lifecycle Support: coordinate tests and support fielded systems on safety issues.
